Alfredsson, Franzen back at Red Wings practice

Forwards Daniel Alfredsson and Johan Franzen were back on the ice at practice for the Detroit Red Wings on Friday after both sat out an 8-2 preseason win over the Boston Bruins on Thursday with lower-body injuries.

In addition, forward Darren Helm skated for about half an hour before practice as he works his way back from groin and back injuries.

Quote of the Day

Life's about opportunity and how you respond to that opportunity, and obviously he must have some swagger about him, some confidence about him, because he was solid. He made some good saves. He was 6-foot-3 on every shot, which is a good thing for a goalie. He played well. We got a win.
