Oilers reduce training camp roster by four

The Edmonton Oilers reduced their training camp roster by four players Wednesday, sending three to the Oklahoma City Barons, their American Hockey League affiliate, and returning another to his junior team.

Defenseman Brandon Davidson and forwards Cameron Abney and Kale Kessy were sent to Oklahoma City. Forward Mitchell Moroz, the Oilers' second-round pick (No. 32) in the 2012 NHL Draft, was returned to the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League.

The Oilers' training camp roster now includes 41 players: four goaltenders, 14 defensemen and 23 forwards.

Quote of the Day

I definitely think going back down helped me, I had a lot of confidence down there, I played a lot of minutes and I think that helped me a lot. With the 37 games up here, that gave me experience as well. I know what it takes to play in the NHL and now it's time for me to show that I'm capable of being a full-time NHL player.
