The Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday cut their training camp roster by sending 24 players to their American Hockey League team.
Among those sent to the Adirondack Phantoms was forward Tye McGinn, who had three goals and five points in 18 NHL games as a rookie last season.
Joining him with the AHL club are forwards Jason Akeson, Brandon Alderson, Rob Bordson, Tyler Brown, Doug Clarkson, Nick Cousins, Kyle Flanagan, Andrew Johnston, Matt Mangene, Derek Mathers, Marcel Noebels and Petr Straka; defensemen Mark Alt, Steven Delisle, Cullen Eddy, Zack Fitzerald, Tyler Hostetter, Matt Konan, Maxim Lamarche, Brandon Manning and Mark Nemec; and goalies Carsen Chubak and Cal Heeter.
Forwards Tyrell Goulborne (Kelowna, Western Hockey League) and Taylor Leier (Portland, WHL) were returned to their junior team, and defenseman Todd Orlando was released from his tryout.
Earlier Wednesday, the Flyers sent 2013 first-round pick Samuel Morin to his junior team, the Rimouski Oceanic of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
