Sharks return Tierney to London

The San Jose Sharks trimmed one player from their training-camp roster Monday, returning center Chris Tierney to his junior team.

A second-round pick (No. 55) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Tierney will play this season for the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.

The 6-foot, 197-pound forward had 57 points in 68 regular-season games last season, and 21 points in 21 OHL playoff games to help London win the league title. He also had a goal and two assists in five games at the Memorial Cup.

Quote of the Day

I kept refreshing the page on the NHL website after the second round and I was shocked he lasted that long. I'm sure the Coyotes were pretty happy to get him. He's such a good player and he plays big in big games.
