Stanley Cup makes stops in Sweden, Slovakia

The Stanley Cup continued the European part of its summer with stops in Sweden and Slovakia over the past few days.

Forward Viktor Stalberg had his day with the trophy in Gotherburg, Sweden, on Tuesday after it spent time with forward Marcus Kruger, who celebrated with friends and family at The Soap Bar in Stockholm.

Kruger was joined by defenseman Johnny Oduya, who earlier in the week celebrated with friends at Café Opera in Stockholm. Some in attendance were teammates from Oduya's childhood.

Forward Marian Hossa ate pirogis made by his mother out of the Cup during his weekend with the trophy in Slovakia. His neighbor in Trencin, Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara, made an appearance and took a picture with the Cup alongside Hossa.

Chicago defeated Boston in six games to win the championship.

Quote of the Day

We think that Randy is a very good coach. Our players think that Randy is a very good coach. We think that he's going to get the most out of this group. With the addition of the two assistants, a bit of a different dynamic, we're very comfortable that this is a quality coaching staff that's going to maximize the potential of this team.
