Finland's Maatta misses second game due to illness

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Finland played its second straight game Thursday without its top defenseman and team captain, Olli Maatta, due to illness.

"He's sick," Finland coach Karri Kivi said. "He's been sick four days already. … Like a flu.”

Kivi said he doubted Maatta would be healthy enough to play the final game of the camp Saturday against Sweden.

"I think he won't play. There's a small chance, like maybe 10 percent," he said.

Quote of the Day

It's something that you don't really envision starting this way, but when you put the work in you don't feel like it's unwarranted. You definitely don't envision it unfolding this way, but you do think you can be successful at this level.
