Ovi unsure about the threepeat
Alex Ovechkin is the two-time defending champion in the BlackBerry NHL Breakaway Challenge, but he's pretty iffy about going 3-for-3 in the contest that factors creativity ahead of goal scoring.

"It'll be a break for me," Ovechkin told NHL.com on the red carpet. "I'm a two-time champion so I'll let the young kids do it, like P.K. Subban."

Subban will join Ovechkin and Corey Perry as the challengers from Team Staal. Evgeny Dadonov, Anze Kopitar and Henrik Sedin will represent Team Lidstrom in the Breakaway Challenge.

Ovechkin insists he's not going for the gold again, at least not at the start.

"I'm going to see what he's going to do first and then I'll probably just do something simple," he said, continuing to play coy.

Ovechkin, though, did add that he "probably" will try to top anything that Subban or Dadonov do, but he doesn't have any props like he did in Montreal.

He does, however, have a secret weapon.

"Magic hands," Ovechkin said.

Quote of the Day

[He's] real confident with the puck now, getting it off his stick quick and no second-guessing. We need that. He's such a good guy in the room. He works so hard. That's the big thing. For not a big man, he just fights for every puck and when he scores, the guys appreciate that even more.
