Emery brings Stanley Cup to historic hockey shop

Goaltender Ray Emery is no longer a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, but he still enjoyed his day with the Stanley Cup in the town of Cayuga, Ontario, about 27 miles south of Hamilton.

A series of events with the Cup culminated in an appearance at Hamilton's historic Kenesky Sports, a shop whose founder, Emil "Pops" Kenesky, invented modern goalie pads in 1924.

Fans lined up around the block to spend a moment with the Cup and Emery, who recently signed a one-year, $1.65 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. Emery also enjoyed time with the Stanley Cup in Hamilton's Hess Village before a private party with friends and family in Toronto.

The Stanley Cup wasn't the only hardware on display at these events. Emery brought along the William M. Jennings Trophy, which he shared with former teammate Corey Crawford last season for allowing the NHL's fewest goals.
