LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Kings coach Darryl Sutter decided to take it easy on center Jarret Stoll after Game 2 of the Western Conference Final against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Sutter already knew Stoll was being hard enough on himself after posting a minus-2 rating in the 4-2 loss at United Center, his second game back after missing six in a row with a concussion.

"I think, you know him, he was disappointed in himself more than I was in him, so I think you'll see a much better Jarret [Tuesday night]," Sutter said in advance of Game 3 at Staples Center (9 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TSN, RDS), where the Kings have won 14 games in a row.

"It's not easy," Sutter continued. "He's coming back from a concussion, bottom line. He was pretty much knocked out. To come back in and be 100 percent confident, I don't think it's that easy. He expects a lot of himself and I think he'll do a lot better [Tuesday night]."

Sutter also expects a big game out of goalie Jonathan Quick, who was pulled midway through the second period in Game 2 after giving up four goals on 17 shots. It was the first time in 35 playoff games that Quick allowed more than three goals.

The Kings, though, feel they need to do a better job protecting Quick in Game 3. They were guilty of leaving him hung out to dry too often in a Game 2 loss in which Andrew Shaw scored off a defensive-zone turnover, Brent Seabrook scored off the rush, and Michal Handzus scored off a 2-on-1.

"He's a pretty focused guy, pretty narrow-mindsetted kind of guy, not too many things bother him. So yeah, we expect his best [Tuesday night] and we've got to be better in front of him," Stoll said of Quick. "It's no secret, you can't rely on your goaltender as much as we have."

The Kings' lone lineup change for Game 3 should be on the blue line, where Jake Muzzin is expected to replace Alec Martinez, who was a minus-2 over 12:44 of ice time in Game 2. Muzzin played in Game 1.
