Report: Fasth to start in goal for Ducks

The Orange County Register is reporting the Anaheim Ducks will start Viktor Fasth in goal Monday against the Edmonton Oilers.

A win by the Ducks would give the franchise its first Pacific Division title since 2007, the year the franchise won its only Stanley Cup.

The Ducks won 3-1 at Edmonton on Sunday, with Jonas Hiller stopping 27 of 28 shots.

In 23 games this season, Fasth is 14-5-2 with a 2.20 goals-against average and .921 save percentage. It will be his first game against the Oilers this season.

Also, Ducks defenseman Sheldon Souray told the newspaper he will sit out Monday with a lower-body injury, but expected to be back in the lineup for the Ducks' next game, Thursday against the Vancouver Canucks.

Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
