NEWARK, N.J. -- Despite Tuukka Rask making 40 saves in a 1-0 shutout win against the New Jersey Devils last week, Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien has opted to go with backup Anton Khudobin against the Devils on Wednesday at Prudential Center (7:30 p.m. ET, NBCSN, TSN2).
Rask, who is 2-0-0 with one goal allowed against the Devils this season, has played in three consecutive games and the Bruins play again Thursday at home against the New York Islanders.
Khudobin is 8-3-0 with a 2.07 goals-against average and .929 save percentage this season.
Julien, though, is less concerned about who his starting goalie is and more about playing a team that is winless in seven straight (0-3-4) but hasn't been playing that poorly.
Both of Boston's games against New Jersey have been tight-checking, low-scoring, one-goal games.
"They're not going to change their style because I don't think they've been playing bad," Julien said of the Devils. "When you watch their team, you can, I guess, sympathize with them because they are snake-bitten. They've gotten lots of opportunities, they're playing hard and they're playing well, but they're just not getting the results. That, to me, means we better be ready [Wednesday] because it's just a matter of time before it goes their way."
Here is the expected Bruins' lineup for the game Wednesday at Prudential Center:
Milan Lucic - David Krejci - Nathan Horton
Brad Marchand - Gregory Campbell - Jaromir Jagr
Daniel Paille - Chris Kelly - Tyler Seguin
Jordan Caron - Rich Peverley - Shawn Thornton
Andrew Ference - Dennis Seidenberg
Matt Bartkowski - Johnny Boychuk
Scratched: Wade Redden, Jay Pandolfo, Kaspars Daugavins, Aaron Johnson
Injured: Patrice Bergeron (concussion), Adam McQuaid (shoulder)
