Workhorse Nabokov again in Islanders' net

New York Islanders coach Jack Capuano admitted his approach to his team would not change heading into a crucial Atlantic Division matchup Tuesday against the Philadelphia Flyers. And in the true spirit of "business as usual," he revealed Evgeni Nabokov would be starting in net for the Islanders.

The 37-year-old has been a workhorse for the Islanders, starting 28 of the team's past 33 games. Heading into the game against the Flyers, Nabokov ranks among the top 10 in the League in a number of goaltending categories, including wins, minutes, starts and saves.

Despite holding an optional skate, Capuano saw the majority of his roster participate prior in the morning practice Tuesday.

One of the players on the ice was forward Matt Moulson, who will return to the lineup after sitting out the team's game Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning with the flu.

Moulson is second on the team with 37 points, and tied for second with 12 goals.

His return pushes Michael Grabner back to the third line, and rookie Anders Lee will be a healthy scratch.

For the Flyers, Steve Mason will make his first start in goal since being acquired at the NHL Trade Deadline. It will be Mason's third start since March 1, first since March 29. It snaps Ilya Bryzgalov's run of 22 straight starts.

Here is how the lineups could look for the Flyers and Islanders when they meet Tuesday at Nassau Coliseum:

Quote of the Day

There's no discouragement in that room. There's no issues there at all to be honest with you. It's more about, 'Hey, it's opportunities for players.' And if we become that bad of a team because of one player, it's not a real good sign for our hockey club. So this is part of sports. It's part of hockey.
