Tallinder late scratch for Devils against Sabres

NEWARK, N.J. -- New Jersey Devils defenseman Henrik Tallinder was announced as a late scratch for Thursday's game against the Buffalo Sabres at Prudential Center.

The Devils said Tallinder has a lower-body injury. He will be replaced by Mark Fayne.

Fayne was listed as a healthy scratch following the team's morning skate at Prudential Center.

Fayne likely will begin the game paired with Andy Greene. Bryce Salvador will be with Marek Zidlicky and Anton Volchenkov will be with Peter Harrold, who will be making his second appearance of the season for the Devils.

Quote of the Day

He's, believe it or not, actually one of my favorite guys, and I've ended up trading him twice. I appreciate what he's done. He was one year away from being an unrestricted free agent, and I felt with this opportunity, that it was a chance that we were able to get somebody for him in Nick Bonino and Adam Clendening.
