Blue Jackets place Moore on IR

The Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday placed defenseman John Moore on injured reserve.

Moore has been sidelined the past two games with a shoulder injury he suffered during the team's morning skate in Chicago on March 1. He's expected to be out 2-3 weeks.

A first-round pick (No. 21) of the Blue Jackets in 2009, Moore has two goals and eight points in 82 career games with the Blue Jackets. He has one assist in 13 matches this season.

Columbus will play host to the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.

Quote of the Day

That was something I've been dreaming of, something I've told myself before the third period I was going to do ... It was an amazing feeling. It's hard to describe. I didn't believe it went in at first but when I saw all the reaction and all the fans going crazy and my teammates going crazy, it's just an unbelievable feeling. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether to jump or just skate and do a Theo Fleury. I don't think I'm the same caliber player he is so I couldn't do it.
