The Courier-Post is reporting that Philadelphia Flyers right wing Matt Read, who has been sidelined since late last month with an upper body injury, is on the ice Monday practicing in a white, contact-allowed jersey, at the Skate Zone in Voorhees, N.J.
Read suffered torn rib cage muscles on Feb. 20 against the Pittsburgh Penguins and was expected to miss six weeks.
At the time of his injury, Read had seven goals and 13 points in 18 games for the Flyers.
Yeah, it was a pretty special moment for me. Today was my Dad's [55th] birthday. I have a lot of family in town, so it was a special moment for me to score my first one today. A win definitely would have capped it off, but you can't have everything.
