The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled forward Brett Sutter from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers, and he will replace Chad LaRose in the team's lineup for Sunday's game at the Florida Panthers.

LaRose did not travel with the team to Florida, instead remaining home to be evaluated for concussion symptoms.

Sutter is fourth on the Checkers with 33 points in 52 games this season. He played 15 games with the Hurricanes last season, totaling three assists and 11 penalty minutes.

LaRose has three points in 19 games and is tied for second on the team with 35 hits.

For me, it's a great win for our hockey team and for a lot of people back in Columbus, especially our fans in particular … people who have been devoted to this organization, it's big.
