The New Jersey Devils on Wednesday recalled forward Tim Sestito from the team's American Hockey League affiliate in Albany.
Sestito has played in 63 games for the Devils since the 2009-10 season. He has three assists and a minus-12 rating in that span. He played 18 games in 2011-12 and collected no points. In 50 games for the Albany Devils this season, the 6-foot, 195-pound center has seven goals and 20 points.
Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello told The Star-Ledger on Tuesday that he would recall a player from Albany to accompany the team for games at the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres.
The Devils have placed goalie Martin Brodeur (back soreness) on injured reserve, retroactive to Feb. 24, and are without injured forwards Dainius Zubrus (wrist) and Ryan Carter (concussion symptoms).
Carter will travel with the team to Winnipeg but no decision has been made when he'll be removed from IR.
