Rangers return Kreider to AHL Connecticut

The New York Rangers announced Friday the team has returned forward Chris Kreider to the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League.

Kreider, who wasn't in the lineup Thursday for the Rangers' 4-3 shootout loss to the New York Islanders, has one goal and two points in seven games this season.

The 19th pick in the 2009 NHL Draft burst onto the scene in the Stanley Cup Playoffs last spring, posting five goals and seven points in 18 games.
