Report: Flyers' Couturier sent home with flu

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier has been sent home from the team's road trip due to the flu, with forward Harry Zolnierczyk recalled from the club's American Hockey League team to replace him.

Couturier was a late scratch from Monday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs due to the flu. It was the first game of a six-game road trip that continues Tuesday at the Winnipeg Jets.

Zolnierczyk, 25, has nine goals and eight assists in 46 games with the Adirondack Phantoms this season. He split last season between the Phantoms and Flyers, totaling three goals and three assists in 37 NHL games.

Quote of the Day

He's a winner. We want winners here, and he's a proven winner. He's won two Stanley Cups. He's 22 years old and been a big part of it. He's got all the right tools. He's got size (6-foot-1, 204 pounds) and strength. He's exactly what we were looking for. He's going to be a big piece of our team for many, many years to come.
