It looks like there will be some competition for the backup goaltending job in Carolina during training camp.
According to the 27-man camp roster the team has released, Dan Ellis will be one of three goalies on hand.
Ellis, 32, will battle incumbent backup Brian Boucher for playing time behind established starter Cam Ward.
He has been playing for Carolina's American Hockey League affiliate, Charlotte, during the lockout, compiling a 8-7-2 record with a 2.46 goals against average with a .922 save percentage. last season, he played for Anaheim, appearing in just 10 games, going 1-5-0 with a 2.72 GAA and .908 save percentage.
Boucher, 36, played in 10 games for the Hurricanes, going 1-6-1 with a 3.61 GAA and .881 save percentage.
