CSN New England is reporting longtime New Jersey Devils forward Jay Pandolfo will be attending Boston Bruins training camp. The 38-year-old, who grew up in Massachusetts before starring at Boston University, played the first 13 seasons of his career for New Jersey, where he won two Stanley Cup titles.
After spending a season playing in the American Hockey League, Pandolfo was rumored to be on the Bruins' radar in the summer of 2011. He eventually signed with the New York Islanders, for whom he registered a goal and three points in 62 games last season. In 881 career NHL games, the Burlington, Mass., native has 126 goals and 226 points.
The second-round pick in the 1993 NHL Draft first captured Boston's heart at Boston University, where in 1995-96 he led Hockey East in goals in his final season before being named an NCAA All-American and Hockey East Player of the Year.
