Reports: Fehr to return to Capitals

According to the Washington Times, the Washington Capitals will be inviting a familiar face to their training camp.

Multiple D.C.-area outlets are reporting that forward Eric Fehr will participate in this year's Capitals training camp and that the team intends on signing him to a pro-rated, one-year contract once he passes his physical.

It should be a joyous reunion for Fehr, who played the first 230 games of his NHL career in Washington, an eventful tenure that included a two-goal performance in the team's 3-1 win against Pittsburgh at the 2011 Winter Classic. Fehr registered 46 goals and 93 points with Washington before being traded to his hometown Winnipeg Jets in 2011. In an injury-shortened 2011-12 season, Fehr scored two goals and added one assist in 35 games.
