Brandon's Pulock expected to be out a week

Brandon Wheat Kings defenseman Ryan Pulock is expected to be out about a week with an undisclosed injury.

Pulock hasn't played since Nov. 18. He is second among WHL blueliners with 25 points in 24 games, and his nine goals are tied for the most. He also has a team-best plus-14 rating and four power-play goals.

In the past two seasons, Pulock has 85 points and a plus-47 rating.

NHL Central Scouting ranked him third on its preliminary top 25 list of Western Hockey League skaters eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft.

"He does everything well," Central Scouting's Peter Sullivan said. "He's got the hardest shot I've seen in years. He's so smart. … He's got all the tools to be a top pick."
