Switzerland routs Canada East for bronze medal

Switzerland claimed the bronze medal at the World Junior A Challenge with a 6-0 win against Canada East on Saturday in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Six different players scored for Switzerland, including one by Luca Fazzini, a C-rated skater in NHL Central Scouting's preliminary rankings of players to watch for the 2013 NHL Draft. Luka Hoffmann and Jan Neuenschwander each had a pair of assists.

Melvin Nyffeler, another 2013 draft prospect, stopped all 31 Canada East shots.

The physical affair featured one fight, 15 misconduct penalties and a total of 221 penalty minutes.

In Saturday's other game, Artem Prokhorov scored two goals to lead Russia to a 4-1 defeat of the Czech Republic in the fifth-place game.

Sunday will see the U.S. face Canada West in the gold-medal game.
