Quenneville making family proud with stellar move

Hockey skills obviously run in Peter Quenneville's family. But the move he pulled off Saturday was impressive even by family standards.

Quenneville is the second cousin of Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville and a center for the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound forward earned a C rating in NHL Central Scouting's preliminary rankings of players to watch for the 2013 NHL Draft, and has three goals and four assists in his first seven games.

His most impressive moment of the early part of his season came Saturday in a 2-1 win at the Green Bay Gamblers.

With the game scoreless, Quenneville took a pass at center ice and skated through the left side of the Green Bay zone. As a defenseman came up to challenge him, Quenneville faked a pass and dragged the puck on his backhand between his skates and sped to the outside around the opposing player. With a clear path to the net, he carried the puck through left circle on his backhand, switched it to his forehand and flicked a wrist shot under the crossbar at the far post for his third goal of the season.
