Second period: Jones helps McLanahan to 4-0 lead

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Team McClanahan turned the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game into a bit of a rout with three second-period goals to take a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes here at First Niagara Center.

Seth Jones and Jacob Montgomery scored 2:11 apart early in the second, and Quentin Shore later scored off his own rebound to break the game open.

Ryan Fitzgerald, who assisted on Hudson Fasching's first-period goal, won an offensive-zone draw back to Jones, who blasted the puck in from the right point at 6:06 to make it 2-0. Moments later, Montgomery took a feed in close from Jimmy Lodge, deked and lifted a backhander under the crossbar to make it 3-0 at 8:17.

Shore banged in his own rebound at 14:58 for the last score of the period.

More after the final horn.
