Forward Jerome Samson has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced Friday.
The deal will pay Samson $600,000 at the NHL level or $105,000 at the AHL level, with a guarantee of at least $175,000.
Samson, 24, split the 2011-12 season between the Hurricanes and Charlotte Checkers of the AHL.
He had two goals and three assists in 16 NHL games. He was second on the Checkers with 20 goals.
Samson was signed by Carolina as an undrafted free agent in July 2007.
