Hurricanes sign Terry to two-year deal

Forward Chris Terry has signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, the team announced Friday.

Terry will receive $525,000 at the NHL level or $90,000 at the AHL level, with a guarantee of $105,000, in the first year. In the second year, he will receive $525,000 in the NHL or $105,000 in the AHL.

Terry, 23, led the Charlotte Checkers with 59 points (16 goals, 43 assists) in 2011-12. In three American Hockey League seasons, he has 67 goals and 103 assists in 235 games.

He was selected by Carolina in the fifth round (No. 132) in the 2007 NHL Draft.
