Bonino gets two-year deal from Ducks

Center Nick Bonino and the Anaheim Ducks will avoid arbitration with the sides agreeing to a two-year contract worth $1.4 million.

Bonino, 24, played 50 games last season for the Ducks, getting five goals and 13 assists. He has 20 points in 85 career games, all with Anaheim.

His arbitration hearing was scheduled for Aug. 3.

Bonino was selected in the sixth round (No. 173) by the San Jose Sharks in the 2007 NHL Draft.

Quote of the Day

[Stamkos] is a great teammate and a great leader, that's why he's got the 'C'. He brings that tremendous work ethic to the rink and he's one of the top players in the game. I know if I put the passes where they are supposed to be, there's a very good chance he's going to put it in the back of the net.
