Agents for both Zach Parise and Ryan Suter said Wednesday could be the day the two marquee free agents in the class of 2012 make the decision about their futures.
Paul Ostby of Sheehy Hockey said on Twitter, "Client Ryan Suter plans on making a decision today." Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reported on Twitter that Wade Arnott, agent for Parise, told her "likely a decision today."
Parise and Suter are the top players available, and both are expected to command huge contracts. Their decisions could also lead to more movement from players and teams waiting on the stars.
You forget how good [Nieuwendyk] was. You hear the points and stuff and you almost forget until they kind of walk you through his career, and that was really cool for me. I might have felt it a little more than some of the other guys because he was one of my favorites growing up, but that was very cool and I'm honored to have been a part of it. I had chills the entire ceremony.
