Taylor Pyatt signs with Rangers

Taylor Pyatt is headed from the desert to the Big Apple.

The New York Rangers on Tuesday agreed to terms with Pyatt on a deal that TSN said is worth $3.1 million over two years, an average annual value of $1.55 million.

The 30-year-old was the eighth player chosen in the 1999 NHL Draft when he was taken by the New York Islanders. He made his debut with the Isles in 2000-01, was traded to Buffalo the following summer, and has played for Vancouver and Phoenix. Pyatt spent the past three seasons with the Coyotes and had nine goals and 19 points in 73 games last season. He added four goals and two assists in 16 playoff games as the Coyotes advanced to the Western Conference Finals.

In 755 NHL games, Pyatt has scored 130 goals and added 134 assists for 264 points, along with 404 penalty minutes.
