Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Desjardins and his family spent Monday morning with the Stanley Cup before letting fans in his hometown of Lively, Ontario, see it.

Desjardins, 28, who last week agreed to terms on a two-year, $1.6 million contract to remain with the Blackhawks, took the Cup first to a playground then to Tom Davies Arena, where fans took photos and got his autograph. There was also a parade with the Cup in nearby Sudbury.

Darling, father commemorate Cup win with tattoos

Scott Darling celebrated becoming the first Chicago-area player to win the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks by getting a tattoo that commemorates the occasion.

Scott Darling Sr. also got inked up last month, surprising his son with a tattoo on his arm of the 26-year-old goalie lifting the Cup, as he did after the Blackhawks' Game 6 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning on June 15.

Michael Figueroa, who works at Spider Tattooz in Sycamore, Ill., did each tattoo.

"I've been a Blackhawks fan ever since I was a kid," he said. "To have this opportunity happen was extremely unreal but exciting.

"I started tattooing [Darling] when he was still in Rockford [IceHogs of the American Hockey League] and after I tattooed him, I started tattooing [Blackhawks prospect] Mark McNeill."

Stanley Cup visits legendary goalie shop in Ontario

There was a special piece of equipment on display at Kenesky Sports in Hamilton, Ontario on Friday.

The Stanley Cup made its fifth appearance at the goalie equipment store, this one with Chicago Blackhawks executive Mark Bernard.

"Wherever you go with the Stanley Cup, Stanley is a rock star," Bernard told CHCH. "Very, very fortunate. There's so many great people in this hockey business that we all work in, and that have never had the opportunity to win it once, and I'm just so gracious and proud that we've had the opportunity to do it three times now."

Blackhawks' Darling parades Cup through hometown

LEMONT, Ill. -- The rain came down in sheets for a few minutes Monday at the Lemont Park District headquarters, soaking a crowd of people and turning Chicago Blackhawks jerseys a deeper shade of red.

Among those caught in the afternoon shower was Blackhawks backup goalie Scott Darling, who sat in the back of an old-fashioned fire truck with the Stanley Cup by his side. It may have rained on his parade, but no amount of water could dampen the mood for Darling, his family or the hundreds who showed up to watch him give the Cup a hometown hoist.

"He and I have watched those 'Day with the Cup' shows on the NHL Network before and were both like, 'Wow, how cool is that?'" said Scott R. Darling, who watched a long line of people wait to get autographs and photos with his son. "To be able to do it and bring it home and share it, I think that's what the Stanley Cup is all about. It's about sharing it with people in your family and in the community where you grew up, and it's just awesome to see the turnout. We had a heavy rainstorm, so there were a lot of wet people, and Scotty got wet too, but it was awesome."

Blackhawks take Stanley Cup to U.S. Cellular Field

The Chicago Blackhawks took the Stanley Cup to the south side of town on Sunday, to U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox.

Forward Andrew Shaw held the Cup over his head and walked to the pitcher's mound with defenseman Michal Rozsival and coach Joel Quenneville, who were all in White Sox jerseys. They took a photo with White Sox players prior to the start of their game. Before going on to the field, Shaw took swings in a batting cage.

The Blackhawks won the Cup with a 2-0 victory in Game 6 at United Center against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.

"What a thrill to win it at home and celebrate on home ice, it was a spectacular playoff run," Quenneville said on WGN during the game. "It was a tough series. You can look at all four of them but the last two were off the charts. Tampa Bay, I don't think anyone thought they were that good. Oh my, was that a tough series. Every shift was tough."
