Keith brings Stanley Cup to beach in Corvette

Duncan Keith rode in style to surprise some 100 beach-goers with the Stanley Cup on Friday.

The Chicago Blackhawks defenseman, in a 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, showed up at Lester Beach, Manitoba, with the trophy in the passenger seat.

"He got out of the convertible and he came down to the beach, I guess it's probably 50 meters or something like that, and as he was approaching the beach he lifted the cup above his head and, of course, there was a big cheer from the crowd," resident Bill Shead told CBC.

Blackhawks' van Riemsdyk takes Cup to Jersey Shore

BRICK, N.J. -- Trevor van Riemsdyk had been smiling and taking pictures for 90 minutes Thursday morning when he and the Stanley Cup finally got a break. This should have been the time when van Riemsdyk, the Chicago Blackhawks defenseman celebrating his day with the Cup, got a coffee, sat down, basically took a load off for a few minutes.

No way. Not on this day.

Van Riemsdyk went back into the Zamboni area at the Ocean Ice Palace around 10:45 a.m., near a garage that opened to a back lot, where his dad, Frans, was running the air conditioner in the black Chevy Suburban that would take him to his next stop, his high school, Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, N.J.

He was still smiling after taking pictures and sharing the Cup with members of Brick Stars Challenger Hockey, a program for developmentally challenged kids that he and his family support, as he stood and conducted the first of his two interviews while Frans was trying to get the traveling party on the road.

"It's all good," van Riemsdyk said to NHL.com. "I've been smiling all summer."

Former Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Saad brought the Stanley Cup back to his native Pittsburgh on Wednesday, when he shared the trophy with approximately 200 members of the United States Air Force Reserve stationed at the 911th Airlift Wing in nearby Moon Township, Pa.

An avid reader of military books, Saad and his family received a tour of the installation and the C-130 Hercules aircraft. He also posed for pictures with members of the unit, whose mission is to organize, recruit and train Air Force personnel.

"This is something I'm into and giving back to the true heroes," Saad said, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I'm a big fan of them. It's just been a great day."
