To the victors go the spoils, as well as some pretty impressive jewelry.
Los Angeles Kings players on Monday received their jewel-encrusted championship rings, made by famed jeweler Tiffany and Co. The face of the ring features the Kings logo comprised of 136 round diamonds among pave-set black spinels. STANLEY CUP is engraved above the logo, CHAMPIONS below it. Each player's name and number is on one side of the ring, while the other side features the Stanley Cup and 16:10, he Kings' record in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Inside the ring is the score of ever Kings playoff game from last season.
It's the second time in three seasons the Kings have taken home the Stanley Cup. Their run started with them becoming the fourth team in League history to rally from a 3-0 series deficit when they won four straight to eliminate the San Jose Sharks. In the second round they survived elimination against their Southern California neighbor Anaheim Ducks by winning a one-goal game in Game 6 at home and then winning Game 7 in Anaheim. In a memorable Western Conference Final against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Kings again won the last two games, including Game 7 in overtime. Then in the Final they beat the New York Rangers in five games.
