Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf is unsure if he can play Friday in Game 5 of their Western Conference First Round Series against the Dallas Stars at Honda Center (10:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, RDS, TSN, FS-SW, PRIME).

Getzlaf did not play in Game 4 on Wednesday because of an upper-body injury. Dallas won 4-2 to square the best-of-7 series 2-2.

Getzlaf played Games 2 and 3 with a protective face shield after he was hit by a shot late in Game 1 and was left with facial lacerations. It is unknown if that is the injury that kept him out of Game 4.

DALLAS -- Anaheim Ducks defenseman Stephane Robidas will not need surgery after fracturing his right leg during Game 3 of their Western Conference First Round series against the Dallas Stars and addressed reporters for the first time since sustaining the injury Monday.

It was his second leg fracture this season; he sustained a similar injury while playing for Dallas in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 29. Robidas spent the next four months recovering before being traded to Anaheim prior to the NHL Trade Deadline.

"I knew it wasn't as bad as the first time because the first time, there's no way I was getting back up. The pain was so bad. This time wasn't as bad, but I knew something was wrong," Robidas said while the Ducks played the Stars in Game 4 at American Airlines Center. Anaheim held a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The Anaheim Ducks will be without center Ryan Getzlaf for Game 4 of their Western Conference First Round series against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center on Wednesday.

Rickard Rakell will take Getzlaf's place in the Ducks lineup.

Getzlaf, who had two goals and two assists in the first three games of the series, is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

DALLAS -- Dallas Stars defenseman Brenden Dillon will not play in Game 4 of their Western Conference First Round series with the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday at American Airlines Center (8 p.m. ET; CNBC, TSN, RDS2, PRIME, FS-SW), but could return for Game 5 on Friday at Honda Center in Anaheim.

Dillon participated in the morning skate on Wednesday with no issue and is progressing nicely in his recovery from an injury he sustained in a 3-0 win against the St. Louis Blues on April 11, the night Dallas clinched its first trip to the postseason in six years.

"Felt better, things are progressing day-by-day. Just trying to take it one step at a time and do what I can control," Dillon said Wednesday.

DALLAS -- Anaheim Ducks right wing Teemu Selanne is a healthy scratch for Game 4 of their Western Conference First Round series with the Dallas Stars on Wednesday at American Airlines Center (8 p.m. ET; CNBC, TSN, RDS2, PRIME, FS-SW).

"Well, obviously we lost the last game and a lot of times the lineup is going to be different," Selanne said after the morning skate. "I didn't think that's anything new, but it is what it is."

Selanne, who is playing his final NHL season, has one assist in three games for Anaheim, which leads the best-of-7 series, 2-1. Selanne learned he would be scratched after practice Tuesday.

DALLAS -- The Anaheim Ducks and Dallas Stars combined for 64 hits, 58 penalty minutes and plenty of contentious moments in Game 3 of their Western Conference First Round series.

The teams expect another physical battle Wednesday, when the Stars will try to even the series by winning Game 4 at American Airlines Center (8 p.m. ET; TSN, CNBC, RDS2, PRIME, FS-SW).

"Obviously we need to up our level of our game," Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf said Tuesday. "We need to compete a little bit harder, get to that net a little bit harder and create some stuff around their crease so their goalie is not so comfortable. That involves getting in there, screening, getting second shots."

FRISCO, Texas -- There was some good news from the Dallas Stars' optional skate Tuesday.

Defenseman Brenden Dillon, who has been out since Dallas' final game of the regular season with a lower-body injury, was on the ice with several of his teammates.

"It was awesome," Dillon, who hasn't played since April 11 against the St. Louis Blues, said. "It was a step in the right direction, especially at time like this where we are making a hopeful big playoff run, and the guys are doing great. Especially after last night, it's great to get out and have a smile on your face and share things."

Since Dillon hasn't played in nearly two weeks, he has missed the first three games of the Stars' Western Conference First Round series with the Anaheim Ducks, which Dallas trails 2-1. But Dillon is hopeful he will at least be able to participate in the morning skate on Wednesday in advance of Game 4 at American Airlines Center (8 p.m. ET, TSN, CNBC, RDS2, PRIME, FS-SW).

DALLAS -- During the regular season, the Anaheim Ducks had the second-best road record in the NHL (25-12-4). And the Ducks, who lead their best-of-7 Western Conference First Round series against the Dallas Stars 2-0, want to carry that success away from Honda Center into the postseason.

Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau knows if the Ducks are to take a 3-0 series lead by winning Game 3 (9:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, RDS, TSN, KDOC, TXA 21) at American Airlines Center on Monday night, they will have to weather an early storm from what should be a fired-up Stars team playing its first home playoff game in six years.

"I think they're going to come out pretty hard. There's no doubt about that," Boudreau said. "We just got to play the way we're capable of playing. It's going to be a hostile environment for sure."

DALLAS -- It has been nearly six full years since the Dallas Stars last hosted a Stanley Cup Playoff game at American Airlines Center.

So when the Stars take the ice Monday for Game 3 of their best-of-7 Western Conference First Round series against the Anaheim Ducks (9:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, RDS, TSN, KDOC, TXA 21), a series they currently trail 2-0, they are expecting a raucous atmosphere.

Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski knows a thing or two about playing in front of a great home crowd in the postseason from his time with the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he was part of their Stanley Cup-winning team in 2009, and he expects a similar vibe Monday evening in downtown Dallas.

The Anaheim Ducks recalled defenseman Mark Fistric on Sunday after he completed a long-term conditioning assignment with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League. However, Fistric does not anticipate playing in Game 3 of the Western Conference First Round series against the Dallas Stars on Monday, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Fistric has not played with Anaheim since March 15 due to a lower-body nerve injury. The 27-year-old defenseman scored one goal, had four assists and was plus-9 in 34 regular-season games.

The Ducks, who lead the best-of-7 series 2-0, also announced Sunday that they have sent goalie John Gibson and defenseman Sami Vatanen to Norfolk. Left wing Emerson Etem was recalled from the Ducks' AHL affiliate.
