At  3:18 of the third period in the Ducks/Oilers game, Nick Schultz received an interference penalty on the basis of rule 56.2 "a minor penalty shall be imposed on any identifiable player on the players' bench or penalty bench who, by means of his stick or his body, interferes with the movements of the puck or any opponent on the ice during the progress of the play. In addition, should a player about to come onto the ice, play the puck while one or both skates are still on the players' or penalty bench, a minor penalty for interference shall be assessed."

At 15:18 of the third period in the Penguins/Flyers, video review conclusively determined that Steve Sullivan's shot crossed the goal line. The penalty on the Flyers that was to be called is negated because according to rule 78.6 "any penalties signaled during the period of time between the apparent goal and the next stoppage of play shall be assessed in the normal manner, except when a minor penalty is to be assessed to the team scored upon, and is therefore nullified by the scoring of the goal". Good Goal Pittsburgh and No Penalty on Philadelphia.
