It has been such a great summer for Corey Crawford that he could hardly be blamed if he didn't want it to end.

Crawford began the day he earned celebrating with the Stanley Cup in his hometown by agreeing to a six-year contract extension Monday with the Chicago Blackhawks. The deal, which begins when his current pact expires after the 2013-14 season, is reportedly worth $36 million.

For the second time in 36 months, Duncan Keith brought the Stanley Cup back to Penticton, B.C.

The Chicago Blackhawks defenseman shared part of his day with the Cup with the community, just as he did during the summer of 2010 after he and his teammates ended a 49-year championship drought.

He spent part of his day smiling his way through hundreds of photos with local fans.

Carter Seabrook waited his whole life -- 14 days -- for his first visit with the Stanley Cup.

Carter's dad, Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook, spent his day with the trophy Friday, and Carter, born Aug. 16, was front and center in several pictures.

A small town welcomed a big visitor Thursday.

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Sheldon Brookbank led a parade in his hometown of Lanigan, Saskatchewan during his time with the Stanley Cup.

"It really means a lot to know that there's people pulling for you back home and they've always been there," Brookbank told CJME Radio. "I can't say enough about this town, I just love it here."

A magical summer for Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane ended on a high note when the 2013 Conn Smythe Trophy winner enjoyed his day with the Stanley Cup on Saturday in his hometown of Buffalo.

As he did when he had the Cup in Buffalo in 2010, Kane took the iconic trophy to Niagara Falls, where he posed for photos with friends and family. The trip this year included the Conn Smythe Trophy, which Kane was given as MVP of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after scoring nine goals and 19 points in 23 games.

Chicago Blackhawks assistant coach Jamie Kompon used his day with the Stanley Cup to say "Thank you."

Kompon spent part of his day with the trophy in and around Niagara Falls at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, where his father is recovering from two strokes suffered during the winter.

"Everybody here had a hand in in getting my dad back to where he is," Kompon said to about 100 staff members, according to Niagarathisweek.com. "To see him like this, it means the world to me. … I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart."

Chicago Blackhawks forward Brandon Saad spent his day with the Stanley Cup in a place familiar with the trophy: Pittsburgh.

But according to the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Saad is the first Pittsburgh-born and -trained player to win the Cup, which has been won by the Penguins three times.

"I'd be lying if I said this whole thing wasn't more than a little surreal," Saad said Thursday. "But it's great."

Veteran forward Jamal Mayers didn't dress for the Chicago Blackhawks during their playoff run to the Stanley Cup Final, where they defeated the Boston Bruins in six games. But the Toronto native's leadership in his quest to win the Cup for the first time proved crucial even if he didn't get to play.

That leadership was rewarded Wednesday when the 38-year-old enjoyed his day with the Stanley Cup in St. Louis, the adopted hometown where Mayers spent his first nine NHL seasons.

During a party along Lake Michigan with the Stanley Cup on full display, Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville hosted some familiar faces. After carrying the Cup around Chicago, including stops at a local post office where he posed for photos, the man known as Coach Q ended the day with a big boat party on Lake Michigan.

The party gave Quenneville an opportunity to enjoy a small reunion with his former Hartford Whalers teammates. Before embarking on his successful coaching career, Quenneville played seven seasons in Hartford. The club never won the Stanley Cup in Hartford, although the franchise enjoyed its first Cup win in 2006 as the Carolina Hurricanes.

With Quenneville and the Cup playing host Monday night, a number of former Whalers enjoyed a night on the lake. Those in attendance included longtime captain and current Carolina vice president of hockey operations Ron Francis, and Florida Panthers coach Kevin Dineen.

Prior to spending the day with Quenneville, the Cup was in Europe for a couple of weeks before spending this past Sunday with Jay Blunk, the Blackhawks executive vice president.
