NHL Live has Predators' Nystrom, Hendricks in studio

The Buffalo Sabres have made changes to their organization and NHL Live, at 5 p.m. ET on NHL Network, will have the latest on Wednesday's moves. NHL Network Insider Darren Dreger will join the show to update what is next for the Sabres with Pat LaFontaine joining the organization as the president of hockey operations and Ted Nolan as interim coach.

It is also Wednesday Night Rivalry on NBCSN as the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins square off and we'll preview this fierce division rivalry. Pierre McGuire, from NBCSN, will join us from Pittsburgh to preview a game that he will call "Between the Glass."

Two special guests will be stopping by the studio: Eric Nystrom and Matt Hendricks, new members of the Nashville Predators who are currently in the New York area during their season-long seven game road trip. After a toss loss to the New York Islanders on Tuesday night, the team faces the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday looking to snap a three-game losing streak. Both of these American-born players are involved with Defending the Blue Line, which gives hockey opportunities to the children of our military heroes. Plus, it's a return to the show for Nystrom as a former co-host on NHL Live last season.

Tribune's Erlendsson discusses the injury to Stamkos

Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune joins NHL Live from Bell Centre to discuss the injury to Tampa Bay Lightning superstar Steven Stamkos and how the team moves on without his services.

"You're never going to replace what Steven Stamkos brings to the ice, but what Tampa has this year is a little more of a structured defensive system," Erlendsson said. "There's a belief in that room that with that system and the way they play defensive hockey, the can still find a way to score three-four goals a night to give themselves a chance to pick up some wins here."

Giguere discusses Avalanche's amazing start

Colorado Avalanche goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere joined NHL Live to break down his team's fast start to the season.

"Our attitude is totally different from the previous two seasons I've been here," Giguere said. "Guys are upbeat and having fun. Our practices are at a high tempo every day. Win or lose, we haven't changed the way we approach every day. It's been so much fun. It kind of gives you energy. As an old guy you go the rink and you might be tired because you have to get up with the kids an all that. But when you get to the rink, you have energy because it's so much fun."

Coach Vigneault talks state of the Rangers

New York Rangers coach Alain Vigneault joined NHL Live to discuss the recent success of his team following a slow start to the season. Vigneault believes a big reason behind the Rangers' improved performance is the play of forward Chris Kreider since his recall from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

"He's one of our most important players at this time," Vigneault said. "He's generating a lot of scoring chances. He's creating a lot of room with his speed and his size for his linemates. Ever since he's come back from Hartford ... he's been one of our top-six forwards and is helping us win a lot of hockey games."
