Ducks defenseman Fowler 'honored' to play in Olympics

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler joined NHL Live to talk about his outstanding season and playing for the United States at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

"I'm obviously just very honored and humbled to be a part of that team and be a part of that experience," Fowler said. "I'm really just looking forward to getting over there and getting to know the guys, and getting to know the systems and the coaching staff. I'm sure when that first game comes there will be definitely some butterflies, but I think those will go away after a couple of shifts. Really just pure excitement and I'm really looking forward to getting over there."

Ference, Perron talk Oilers' run on NHL Live

Edmonton Oilers captain Andrew Ference and leading goal scorer David Perron were in-studio guests of NHL Live. In New York City on an Eastern Conference road trip, Ference and Perron discussed the recent play of the Oilers, winners of four of their past five games.

"We're doing the little things that make us successful," Perron said. "I felt like earlier in the year we were, at spurts, doing it, and then falling back to the old habits of trying to make too many plays. It's nice that we're rolling right now and we have to finish the season really strong."

"When you play on winning teams and go through successful stretches with teams, the biggest thing you do is realize it doesn't just happen by accident," said Ference, who won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011. "It's nothing fancy, there's not a secret formula. It's just hard work and really dedicated people involved."
