Tavares, Oates and a congressman on Cisco NHL Live

It was a super Tuesday for the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders, as they were among the teams to clinch spots in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Cisco NHL Live, at 5 p.m. ET Wednesday on NHL Network with Steve Mears and Ken Daneyko, will talk to Isles superstar John Tavares and Washington coach Adam Oates.

Hockey was also the hot topic Wednesday on Capitol Hill during the Congressional Hockey Caucus Briefing. Illinois congressman Mike Quigley joins us as his Chicago Blackhawks look to lock up the Presidents' Trophy.

It's also Rivalry Night in the NHL as the Detroit Red Wings continue their push for a 22nd consecutive postseason berth. We'll catch up with Wings forward Cory Emmerton and NBC Sports analyst Pierre McGuire, who will be Inside the Glass, when the defending champion Los Angeles Kings visit Detroit.

Cisco NHL Live all over key Capitals-Jets matchup

The Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets square off for the Southeast Division lead on Tuesday and Cisco NHL Live with Steve Mears and EJ Hradek, at 5 p.m. ET on NHL Network, will get you ready for that game and catch you up on all the Stanley Cup Playoff implications around the NHL.

We'll talk to Jets assistant coach Perry Pearn on our Cisco NHL Arena Cam in Washington to get the sense of the team before this big matchup. We'll also get a live pre-game preview from NHL.com Senior Writer Dan Rosen in Washington.

With nine other games on the ice we'll also give you a look at pre-game skates in our Ice Pass, and discuss each one rapidly in Slapshots. We'll also get live pre-game updates from our Cisco NHL Arena Cam in Florida with Sam Rosen of MSG, as the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers face off. The Boston Bruins will square off with the Philadelphia Flyers and we'll get a live pre-game report from Joe Haggerty of CSN New England, via our Cisco NHL Arena Cam in Philadelphia. Lastly, NHL Network analyst Darren Pang will drop by the show to talk about the St. Louis Blues' matchup with the Colorado Avalanche as well as goalie play as we get to crunch time.

Couture to appear on Monday's Cisco NHL Live

The last week of the regular season is here and the clock is ticking for teams yet to clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Cisco NHL Live with Steve Mears and E.J. Hradek, at 5 p.m. ET on NHL Network, will have all the latest on the final push to the playoffs.

San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture was named the NHL's Third Star of the Week on Monday, and he'll join us to discuss where his team is headed.

In Detroit, where the Red Wings are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in 22 seasons, we'll have a live preview from our Cisco NHL Arena Cam with play-by-play voice Ken Kal.

We'll also get live previews from our Cisco NHL Arena Cam in Buffalo, where the Sabres host the Winnipeg Jets, and our Cisco NHL Arena Cam in Ottawa, for the Senators-Penguins showdown.

NHL Network analyst Barry Melrose will also weigh in on under-the-radar teams and their odds to win the Stanley Cup.

Yandle, Gionta among guests on Cisco NHL Live

The Boston Bruins' game Friday against the Pittsburgh Penguins has been postponed and Cisco NHL Live, at 5 p.m. ET on NHL Network with Steve Mears and E.J. Hradek, will have Penguins general manager Ray Shero and Bruins analyst Andy Brickley to talk about the mindset of playing the game Saturday. Boston native and Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle and Montreal Canadiens captain Brian Gionta, who played his college hockey in Boston, will also be on the show.

On the ice, five other games are scheduled including the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres on NHL Network at 7 ET. We'll get a live preview from Sabres TV analyst Rob Ray from our Cisco NHL Arena Cam in Buffalo. In the Western Conference, the upstart Dallas Stars face off with the St. Louis Blues and we'll have Kelly Chase on to preview this matchup via our Cisco NHL Arena Cam in St. Louis. It is Friday, so that means Eddie Olyczk will join us from Chicago and NHL Network analyst Barry Melrose will also be with us to talk some of the playoff races.
