Nick Baptiste will be entering his second season with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League in 2012-13. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound right wing, regarded as a top prospect for the 2013 NHL Draft, produced eight goals and 27 points in 64 games last season. Sudbury is representing the OHL in the 2012 Junior Club World Cup tournament from Aug. 18-26 in Omsk, Russia. Baptiste has agreed to take the time and maintain a blog for NHL.com that will document his stay in Russia.
Hi everyone. I'm Nick Baptiste from Ottawa, Ontario, in my second year with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves!
I am really excited to be taking part in this year's Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia. This year is a big year for me with the NHL Draft in New Jersey next June. I am really excited to get the season started and it is great to start with our trip to Russia. I would like to thank the NHL for giving me this opportunity. It's a great way to keep everyone up to date with the Wolves trip to Russia.
We bussed in from Sudbury to Toronto where we met all our teammates at Pearson Airport. It was great to see the guys after a summer at home. Our first flight was from Toronto to Paris. It is my first time overseas and unfortunately didn’t get any sleep on the plane!
