At the Rink: Coyotes at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Jets could be without center Bryan Little when they host the Arizona Coyotes at MTS Centre on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; FS-A, TSN3).

Little, who leads the Jets (21-24-3) with 15 goals, did not participate in the morning skate for undisclosed reasons. He also did not finish practice Monday.

"We had to have him looked at [Tuesday] and run some tests," Jets coach Paul Maurice said. "As the plan is right now, unless something changes he is going to take warmup. And if he feels good he is going to play."

If Little does not play, he would join Mathieu Perreault as another Winnipeg forward out of the lineup. Perreault will not play because of a lower-body injury; forward Patrice Cormier will dress in his place. Forward Adam Lowry (upper body) will miss his fifth consecutive game.

Little's absence would shift leading scorer Blake Wheeler to center on Winnipeg's top line, with captain Andrew Ladd and rookie Nikolaj Ehlers.

At the Rink: Devils at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Jets could have forwards Alexander Burmistrov and Drew Stafford back in their lineup against the New Jersey Devils at MTS Centre on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; SN, MSG+ 2).

Stafford has missed the past three games because of an upper-body injury. Burmistrov missed a 4-1 home loss against the Nashville Predators on Thursday because of an undisclosed injury.

Coach Paul Maurice said he is “reasonably confident” Burmistrov and Stafford will dress.

“We’ll give them the afternoon to make sure that they feel as well as they did [Saturday] morning, and then we’ll have to make a decision.” Maurice said.

At the Rink: Predators at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Jets may be without four regular forwards when the Nashville Predators visit MTS Centre on Thursday (TSN3, FS-TN).

Alexander Burmistrov could be the latest Winnipeg forward to miss playing time after he did not finish the morning skate. He had missed practice Wednesday because of an undisclosed injury.

Burmistrov will be a game-time decision. Forwards Adam Lowry (upper body), Mark Scheifele (lower body) and Drew Stafford (upper body) will not play.

If Burmistrov is not able to play, center Patrice Cormier would dress instead. Cormier, who played one game with the Jets earlier this season, was recalled from Manitoba of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

At the Rink: Avalanche at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Jets lineup will have a new look when they host the Colorado Avalanche at MTS Centre on Monday (8 p.m. ET; ALT, TSN3).

Winnipeg forward JC Lipon will make his NHL debut after being recalled with center Patrice Cormier from Manitoba of the American Hockey League on Sunday. Upper-body injuries to forwards Adam Lowry and Drew Stafford, who are on injured reserved retroactive to Jan. 14, necessitated the move.

Lipon, 22, had eight goals and nine assists in 30 games with Manitoba. Cormier, who is not expected to dress, played one game with the Jets earlier this season and has six goals and six assists in 34 AHL games.

"Obviously I'm a little nervous, but it's a good nervousness," said Lipon, whose parents and grandparents will be making the trip from neighboring Saskatchewan.

At the Rink: Predators at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The Nashville Predators will have a new look to their lineup when they visit the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Thursday (8 p.m. ET; FS-TN, TSN3).

Having lost four games in a row and six of their past seven, the Predators (19-17-7) will have forwards Kevin Fiala and Cody Bass in the lineup. They had been recalled from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

Fiala, 19, has six goals and 15 assists in 34 games with Milwaukee in his first full North American season after the Predators selected him 11th in the 2014 NHL Draft. Predators coach Peter Laviolette said he will slot Fiala at left wing on the first line with center Ryan Johansen and right wing James Neal. Bass will play on the fourth line.

"We're not scoring goals (nine goals in the past six games), so we're going to look to bring Kevin in and see if he can bring some offense to our [team]," Laviolette said. "It provides a balance. We can move guys around and get a balance out there."

At the Rink: Sharks at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Jets will be without center Mark Scheifele when they face the San Jose Sharks at MTS Centre on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; CSN-CA, TSN3).

Scheifele, who sustained a lower-body injury in a 2-1 shootout loss at the Dallas Stars on Jan. 7, will miss his second consecutive game.

However, the Jets will have forward Mathieu Perreault in the lineup after he left late in the third period of a 4-2 home loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday. Perreault did not practice Monday, but said he is ready to play.

At the Rink: Red Wings at Jets

WINNIPEG -- Lineup changes are possible for the Detroit Red Wings when they visit the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET; FS-D, TSN3).

The Red Wings, who will play for the third time in four nights, had an optional skate after a 3-1 loss at the Minnesota Wild on Monday. It is expected goaltender Jimmy Howard will start after Petr Mrazek played the past two games.

Detroit coach Jeff Blashill was not happy with his players' performance in the loss at Minnesota. One option is inserting forward Eric Tangradi into the lineup. Detroit recalled Tangradi, a former Jet, from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League on Monday, but he did not dress at Minnesota.

The status of forward Luke Glendening, who missed the game Monday because of an illness, is not known.

"We're still making evaluations of the lineup," Blashill said.

At the Rink: Penguins at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets each will be without a key player at MTS Centre on Sunday.

Jets center Mark Scheifele has a concussion after colliding with captain Andrew Ladd at practice Saturday. The Jets placed Scheifele on injured reserve and recalled forward Adam Lowry from Manitoba of the American Hockey League on Sunday. Coach Paul Maurice said Scheifele will be out of the lineup for at least a week.

Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang also will not play Sunday. He briefly left the game in the third period Saturday of a 3-1 win at the Minnesota Wild after being hit by Minnesota forward Jarret Stoll. He later returned, but coach Mike Sullivan is taking a cautious approach with his defenseman.

Letang sustained an upper-body injury against the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 9 and missed six games before returning at Minnesota.

At the Rink: Rangers at Jets

WINNIPEG -- Center Derek Stepan will return to the New York Rangers lineup when they face the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Friday (8 p.m. ET; MSG+, TSN3).

Stepan has missed 10 games because of broken ribs. Coach Alain Vigneault was unsure who would be taken out of the lineup.

The Rangers recalled goaltender Magnus Hellberg and defenseman Chris Summers from Hartford on Friday, and returned defenseman Brady Skjei to their AHL affiliate. Hellberg, who is 8-8-2 with a 2.62 goals-against average and .908 save percentage with Hartford, will back up Henrik Lundqvist.

Goalie Antti Raanta was injured in the first period of a 5-2 loss at the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, forcing Lundqvist to finish the game. Vigneault said that Raanta is day-to-day with a head injury.

Defenseman Kevin Klein (oblique) will miss his ninth straight game.

At the Rink: Blues at Jets

WINNIPEG -- The St. Louis Blues will stick with their lineup when they visit the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Tuesday.

The Blues, who are in the middle of a stretch of nine of 11 games on the road, have struggled to score lately. During a 2-3-0 homestand, they averaged 2.2 goals per game and managed one goal on 43 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday.

Blues coach Ken Hitchcock will again turn to goaltender Jake Allen, who will start for the third game in a row. Allen will face rookie goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, making his third consecutive start for the Jets.
