Hurricanes claim Hall on waivers from Lightning

The Carolina Hurricanes have claimed Adam Hall on waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning, the team announced Saturday morning.

Hall had four assists in 20 games for the Lightning this season. When he packs up his gear, he won't have to take it very far -- the Hurricanes are in Tampa, Fla., and play the Lightning on Saturday night so Hall could make his Carolina debut against his former club.

"Adam gives us an added penalty killer," Carolina general manager Jim Rutherford said on Twitter (@HurricanesGM). "He plays the wing, but can also play center and is a very good face-off man."

Wild's Zucker skates, questionable to return to lineup

Though Minnesota Wild left wing Jason Zucker remains questionable to return to the lineup Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche, the team did receive a positive sign Friday when the 21-year-old forward joined the team for its morning skate at Xcel Energy Center.

Zucker left Tuesday's game against the Anaheim Ducks after receiving an illegal hit to the head from Corey Perry in the second period, and did not return. Perry was given a four-game suspension by the NHL's Departement of Player Safety on Wednesday.

Projected lineups for Blackhawks, Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to extend their eight-game point streak (5-0-3) when they face the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday at Nationwide Arena.

Aiding in their effort will be Artem Anisimov, who has missed the past three games with a lower-body injury. He's second on the team with six goals.

For the Blackhawks, Jimmy Hayes will slide into the spot vacated by injured Patrick Sharp. Hayes, playing for Rockford of the American Hockey League, is tied for the team lead with 22 goals

"He brings a presence," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said of Hayes. "He's got some size to him and he's been on a tear down in the minors there, producing at a real good rate. [He] gets to the net well and I think he's got a real nice set of hands at the net."

The Blackhawks announced Corey Crawford would start in goal, and forward Rostislav Olesz, who has not played this season, has been assigned to Rockford.

Here is how the teams could look when they take the ice Thursday:

Blue Jackets not getting caught up in win streak

Columbus Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards acknowledged after his team's practice Tuesday that its play has been improved lately. But he repeatedly stated that the Blue Jackets' focus was on their home game Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks, not their five-game win streak, which is tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins for the NHL's longest current run.

"We've been fortunate enough to win some games, but this is our next biggest game," Richards said. "Our focus has to be on [Tuesday] and nothing else. When this one's over, we'll get ready for the next one. Our guys have done a good job focusing and managing that part of it. We can never get ahead of ourselves."

Dubinsky back for Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets go for their sixth straight win Tuesday when they host the Vancouver Canucks at Nationwide Arena.

Sergei Bobrovsky, named Monday as the NHL's First Star of the Week, will be back in net. In four games last week, he was 4-0-0 with a 0.77 goals-against average, .972 save percentage and one shutout.

Returning to the lineup is center Brandon Dubinsky, who has been out for a month with a knee injury. In 15 games, Dubinsky -- who last played Feb. 16 -- has a goal and seven assists.

Michalek out, Latendresse in for Senators

The Ottawa Sun reported Monday that Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek will miss the game against the Boston Bruins with a recurrence of the knee problems that sidelined him earlier in the season.

Michalek played two games since returning from a month-long absence due to a knee he originally injured in warm-ups prior to a game Feb. 13 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. According to the Sun, Michalek is considered day to day with his latest knee issues.

In Michalek's place looks to be Guillaume Latendresse, who has been out since Jan. 30 due to whiplash.

The newspaper also reported that Robin Lehner said he will start in goal. He stopped 33 of 35 shots in his previous start, a 3-2 victory against the New York Rangers on March 8.

Luongo gets nod for Canucks against Blue Jackets

Roberto Luongo will start in net for the Vancouver Canucks when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, the team announced Monday.

Cory Schneider started the Canucks' previous three games -- all losses -- and has just two wins in his last eight starts. The Canucks have lost four straight and have been overtaken by the Minnesota Wild for first place in the Northwest Division.

Luongo hasn't played since March 3, when he allowed three goals on 24 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Calgary Flames. For the season, Luongo is 5-2-3 with a 2.19 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.
