ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -The Ducks kept their pre-game party going after the final horn sounded.

Ryan Getzlaf scored the tying goal and assisted on the game-winner in the third period, helping Stanley Cup champion Anaheim defeat the Boston Bruins 2-1 on Wednesday night in the teams' only meeting this season.

Francois Beauchemin scored at 13:35 of the third, allowing the Ducks to snap a three-game losing streak and notch their first victory in North America.

The Ducks improved to 2-3-1. They split a two-game series with the Los Angeles Kings in London to open the season, then lost at Detroit in overtime, at Columbus and at Pittsburgh.

"We're trying to find our identity right now and we've got to work every night and be ready when the puck drops," Getzlaf said. "The start of the year is always going to be like that when you've got new faces around - especially on our top two lines."

Getzlaf slid the puck over to Beauchemin and his slap shot was deflected off the stick of Boston's David Krejci past goaltender Tim Thomas for a 2-1 lead. Shane Hnidy also got an assist.

The Ducks had barely cleared the remnants of their pre-game Stanley Cup championship celebration from the ice when the Bruins scored a minute into the game.

Chuck Kobasew notched his second goal of the season for the Bruins, who fell to 1-2-0 on their season-opening road trip.

"Here you are, you're raising your banner, everybody's excited and pumped up and then, boom, they score on you," center Todd Marchant said. "It was just a little breakdown and they capitalized on it. It could have been a huge deflating thing for a team. But we're learning to bury those things."

Playing 4-on-4, Anaheim tied the game when Getzlaf scored at 10:52 of the second. Kent Huskins' slap shot was blocked by Thomas, but Getzlaf skated in and beat Thomas' gloveside with the rebound.

"They came out skating a little bit and we weren't really prepared," Getzlaf said. "But I think we played really well the rest of the night. We made good decisions with the puck and got everybody skating the way we needed to."

Ilya Bryzgalov made 18 saves for the Ducks to win for the first time.

Thomas stopped 28 shots.

The Bruins fell to 1-2-0 on their season-opening road trip.

"A lot of times it looked like we had mental errors and we couldn't get things to settle down," defenseman Aaron Ward said. "We did a good job trying to initiate setting the tone."

The Ducks marked the Stanley Cup title they won in June over Ottawa by raising an orange-white-and-black banner and lowering the gleaming Cup from the ceiling on a silver tray.

It was carried to a table where the Conn Smythe and Campbell trophies rested. The team also raised banners signifying its first Pacific Division championship and Western Conference title.

Fans chanted "one more year!" at playoff MVP Scott Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne, who joined the team on the ice wearing suits. Both players are contemplating retirement.

"It's a special time for the guys who were here last year - especially with Scotty and Teemu on the ice," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "There was some video and it brought back a lot of memories, so our players felt affected by it. It was a good thing to see they were professional enough to put that behind them and go back to work.

Notes: Boston was in town for the first time since Oct. 19, 2003. ... Ducks G Jean-Sebastien Giguere was greeted by loud cheers during pre-game introductions. He has yet to appear in a game while recovering from offseason surgery on a sports hernia. ... Bruins C Marc Savard sat out because of a groin strain sustained last Saturday in Phoenix, ending his consecutive games played streak at 166. He hadn't missed a game since April 3, 2004, at Tampa Bay when he was with Atlanta.
