DETROIT (AP) -- The Minnesota Wild can thank Dwayne Roloson for extending their unbeaten streak to seven games.
Roloson stopped 38 shots in a 2-2 tie against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night, and the Wild got goals from Marian Gaborik and Wes Walz to improve to 4-0-3 during the run.
"Our goalie was really good, especially in the third period," Minnesota coach Jacques Lemaire said. "He had some big saves to make."
Henrik Zetterberg and Kris Draper scored for Detroit, and Curtis Joseph made 22 saves.
Walz broke a 1-all tie at 6:55 of the third period when he tipped in Willie Mitchell's pass from the left point. But Draper tied it just 28 seconds later, when he scored from the bottom of the left circle after stealing the puck from Mitchell.
Zetterberg was credited with the goal that tied it 1-1 for Detroit 2:06 into the third period. His pass from along the boards was accidentally tipped past Roloson by the Wild's Sergei Zholtok, who was in the high slot.
"We played a great game," Roloson said. "Unfortunately, those breaks happen in a game. ... Sometimes a bad bounce happens."
The Red Wings outshot the Wild 19-6 in the third period and 40-24 for the game.
"We outshot them. We had a lot of opportunities as well," Draper said. "Both goaltenders played well. We knew what it was going to be like tonight. We had to work hard for everything we got."
One of Roloson's best saves came off Ray Whitney with 2:13 left in regulation. Whitney one-timed a shot from the top of the left circle that Roloson grabbed with his glove.
Gaborik broke a scoreless tie with just 14.7 seconds remaining in the second period with a breakaway goal.
After taking a pass from Pascal Dupuis, Gaborik fended off Nicklas Lidstrom and squeezed a shot through Joseph's pads.
"I didn't think we played good enough the first two periods," Zetterberg said. "But in the last period, we played better. If we'd played that way the first two periods, we might have gotten two points."
Joseph stopped Walz on a short-handed breakaway about eight minutes into the second period.
"At home I think you want more than one point," Joseph said. "But we were down 2-1, we tied it up real quick and we had some chances, no question."
