Well-rested Bruins visit surging Islanders
Boston Bruins vs. New York Islanders

BRUINS (25-16-7) at ISLANDERS (32-14-1)

Season series: Cal Clutterbuck scored what proved to be the game-winner midway through the second period to lead the New York Islanders to a 3-2 win against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Oct. 23. Islanders goalie Chad Johnson made 30 saves against his former team.

Bruins team scope: Boston is set to play its first game in eight days; the Bruins' last game before the All-Star break was a 3-2 shootout loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 21. Their first practice after the break was scheduled for Tuesday, but it was cancelled to a snowstorm that rocked the Northeast. Boston is 6-1-3 in its past 10 games and is six points in back of the Montreal Canadiens for third place in the Atlantic Division. "Obviously, the break was nice," center David Krejci said Wednesday, according to the Bruins website. "I thought we were finding our game just before the break, so unfortunately, we didn't have practice [Tuesday], but I thought we did a pretty good job today. So yeah, we've got to start where we left off, and now we have to get back in a playoff position and try to climb up the standings."

Islanders team scope: New York's fourth line continues to be arguably the most productive in the League. Casey Cizikas, Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck combined for one goal, two assists and 20 hits in a 4-1 win against the New York Rangers at Nassau Coliseum on Tuesday. "From our perspective, it's easy. It's get pucks in deep, it's grind it out, take the body and just try to create chaos," Cizikas said after practice Wednesday. "So that's what we try to do as a line and so far, in my opinion, we've been successful at it. We've just got to keep going with it and can't veer away from it." The Islanders will be without top-line right wing Kyle Okposo for the next 6-8 weeks because of an upper-body injury. They're hoping to have defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky (upper body) back shortly.
