Ducks aim for team-record win streak facing Islanders
Anaheim Ducks vs. New York Islanders

DUCKS (25-7-5) at ISLANDERS (10-19-7)

TV: PRIME, MSG PLUS

Last 10: Anaheim 8-0-2; New York 2-4-4

Season series: The Anaheim Ducks defeated the New York Islanders 5-2 at Honda Center on Dec. 9. This is the Ducks' first visit to Long Island since a 3-2 loss on Dec. 16, 2010.

Big story: The NHL's road warriors are also its hottest team. The Ducks, who are playing their League high 23rd road game, come to Nassau Coliseum with a seven-game winning streak after defeating the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in overtime Friday in Newark.

Team Scope:

Ducks: Anaheim will be trying for a franchise-record eighth consecutive victory. That's because New Jersey native Kyle Palmieri delighted the dozens of friends and family in the crowd by scoring at 2:37 of overtime to give the Ducks the victory Friday. Palmieri's wraparound went off Devils defenseman Jon Merrill into the net.

"It was a pretty memorable night for me, my family, my friends," Palmieri said. "It was definitely a pretty cool experience for everybody. It didn't have to be storybook in my eyes, but we were lucky enough to get a win and I was able to contribute, so it felt pretty good."

Islanders: Michael Grabner and the Islanders each had a weight lifted Friday. Grabner scored his first two goals since opening night, and the Islanders won for the first time in regulation since Nov. 12 by defeating the New York Rangers 5-3 at Madison Square Garden.

"It's been the longest [drought] of my career and it's nice to end it," Grabner said. "At the same time, I've got to go back to work tomorrow and try to do it again."

The victory was the Islanders' first in regulation since Nov. 12 and their second in nine games this month.

"We got 60 minutes of consistent effort form our guys, our penalty kill came up big when they had to, and I thought [goaltender Evgeni] Nabokov did a great job for us," coach Jack Capuano said.

Who's hot: Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller made 19 saves to beat the Devils. He's won six consecutive starts, allowing 11 goals in that span. … Islanders forward Kyle Okposo has five points in his past five games and has exceeded last season's offensive totals with 11 goals and 31 points.

Injury report: The Ducks are without goaltender Viktor Fasth (lower body) and defensemen Luca Sbisa (hand) and Sheldon Souray (wrist). … Islanders defensemen Lubomir Visnovsky (concussion) and Radek Martinek (back) are on injured reserve.
