Lightning look to stay hot at home against Jets
Winnipeg Jets vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

JETS (13-13-4) at LIGHTNING (17-10-1)

TV: CBC, SUN

Last 10: Winnipeg 4-4-2; Tampa Bay 4-5-1

Season series: The Winnipeg Jets and Tampa Bay Lightning, former Southeast Division rivals, meet for the first time since the Jets moved to the Western Conference. They last played on April 16, 2013, with the Jets winning 4-3 in overtime.

Big story: The injury woes continue for the Lightning, who lost two more players in a 3-1 win against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday. Defenseman Keith Aulie broke his hand and Victor Hedman left the game with a lower-body injury. Tampa Bay had six players on injured reserve.

"That was a big effort from an extremely shorthanded team for most of the game," coach Jon Cooper said after the game. "We may have to move the locker room to the training room. It's getting really tough to see."

The good news is the Lightning are playing at home, where they have won eight of the past nine games and own one of the NHL's best home records at 11-3-0.

Team Scope:

Jets: Winnipeg lost 5-2 to the Florida Panthers on Thursday, three nights after one of its best games all season, a 5-2 win against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

"[The Panthers] worked hard. We had three days to prepare for this game and we weren't ready," forward Olli Jokinen said. "In this League, once the puck is dropped, records mean nothing."

The Jets started a six-game road trip 2-0-0 but have dropped two of three. Since starting the season 2-0-0, the Jets have not been two games above .500, missing another chance to do that Thursday.

"You try and figure out why and how you get to this point where you can't take steps forward," coach Claude Noel said.

Lightning: Tampa Bay used two Martin St. Louis goals and 33 saves from Ben Bishop to beat the Senators after being shut out in their previous two games.

"You give yourself a chance to win a game if you score a couple of goals," St. Louis said. "Without Bishop's play, we're not winning this game."

Bishop has 15 wins, a 1.98 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage. He is 2-0-0 against the Senators, who traded him to the Lightning late last season.

"It's always nice to beat the team that traded you, but at the same time, it's a lot bigger than that. It's a big win for our team," Bishop said.

Who's hot: Jokinen has three goals in two games. ... St. Louis has four goals in five games. Bishop has allowed five goals in five games.

Injury report: Jets forward Jim Slater (hernia) and defensemen Paul Postma (leg) and Zach Bogosian (groin) are on injured reserve. Forwards Michael Frolik (flu) and Evander Kane (lower body) are questionable. … The Lightning are without forwards Tom Pyatt (collarbone), Ryan Malone (foot), Pierre-Cedric Labrie (upper body) and Steven Stamkos (fractured tibia). On defense, Hedman (lower body) is expected to miss at least a week, and Aulie (hand) is out indefinitely. However, Radko Gudas (upper body) and Eric Brewer (upper body) practiced Friday and are expected to return against the Jets.
