Flames conclude home schedule against Ducks
Anaheim Ducks vs. Calgary Flames

DUCKS (27-10-6) at FLAMES (17-22-4)

TV: KDOC, SNET-CGY

Last 10: Anaheim 5-3-2; Calgary 4-6-0

Season series: Third and final meeting of the regular season. The Anaheim Ducks will be going for a sweep of the Calgary Flames. In the most recent matchup, Viktor Fasth stopped all 29 shots he faced in a 4-0 victory on March 8.

Big story: Miikka Kiprusoff will start for the Flames, possibly for the final time at Scotiabank Saddledome as a member of the organization he led to within a win of the Stanley Cup in 2004. Kiprusoff is just 7-13-2 with a 3.53 goals-against average and .877 save percentage this season, but has won over 300 games in his nine seasons in Calgary.

Team Scope:

Ducks: Western Canada is where Anaheim will spend the next week, as the Ducks embark on a four-game road swing that also sees them face the Oilers on consecutive nights before finishing up against the Canucks in a potential battle of division winners. They had their hands full Wednesday with a Blue Jackets team making a desperate playoff push. Despite taking a pair of one-goal leads courtesy of unlikely sources -- Sami Vatanen and David Steckel each scored his first of the season -- the Ducks saw the Jackets rally each time and eventually deal them a 3-2 loss on a Fedor Tyutin goal in overtime.

"I think this is a good time to go on the road," forward Andrew Cogliano said. "Good time to have a bonding trip right before the playoffs and play some good hockey, and go into the playoffs with it."

Flames: This is the final home game of the season for Calgary, which starts a season-ending four-game road trip in Minnesota on Sunday. The Flames are coming off a solid effort in which they put a serious dent in the Red Wings' postseason hopes with a 3-2 win on Wednesday. Veteran forward Steve Begin recorded his first two-goal game since Nov. 21, 2007, capitalizing on a pair of puckhandling mistakes by Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard. Lee Stempniak also scored and Kiprusoff stopped 36 shots.

"I haven't played in a few games and I haven't won lately, so I was motivated by that, too," Kiprusoff said about possibly playing his next-to-last game in Calgary. "It's nice to win in front of the home crowd here."

Who's hot: Ryan Getzlaf has two goals and five assists in his past five games for the Ducks. … Sven Baertschi has two goals and two assists during a three-game points streak for the Flames.

Injury report: Anaheim is dealing with some issues on the blue line as Cam Fowler and Luca Sbisa are battling upper-body injuries. Forward Nick Bonino is on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, but could return at some point on this road trip. … Calgary is without defenseman Derek Smith (lower body) and forwards Brian McGrattan (shoulder) and Alex Tanguay (knee).
