Well-rested Jets set to host Flyers
Philadelphia Flyers vs. Winnipeg Jets

FLYERS (5-7-1) AT JETS (5-5-1)

TV: CSN-PH, TSN-JETS

Season series: This is the first of three meetings between the teams. The Jets won three of four meetings between the teams last season, including a memorable 9-8 game in October 2011 in Philadelphia.

Big Story: How will the Flyers react on the second night of back-to-back games against a well-rested Jets team that hasn't played since Saturday?

Team Scope:

Flyers: The road hasn't been kind to Philadelphia this season, and that continued Monday in Toronto, with a 5-2 loss to the Maple Leafs marking the start of a six-game road trip.

The loss dropped the Flyers to 1-6-0 away from Wells Fargo Center, a bit of a surprise after last season's team had a League-best 25-13-3 road record.

Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen said the team's problems on the road come down to"individual preparation."

"Doesn't matter if you are home or away, you have to play consistent," he told CSNPhilly.com. "Once you come on the roadyou have to prepare yourself even more. There's no fans behind you, no one cheering your name. That's a learning process to me and it's time to learn this right now."

Jets: Ondrej Pavelec said what happened to him last week was unlike anything else he's ever gone through.

Hours after backstopping the Jets in a loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs last Thursday, he became so sick it woke him from a sound sleep. It was a flu bug that hit him so hard he couldn't play in Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators.

"I don't think I've had it worse than that," Pavelec told the Winnipeg Sun. "It surprised me a little bit because I had a flu shot a few weeks ago. I don't know if it was from food or from something else. I'm happy it’s behind me and I can eat finally."

Pavelec is healthy, but coach Claude Noel wasn't ready Monday to name a starter for Tuesday's game.

"[Pavelec] was a lot better today, so we'll take a look and see," Noel said. "I'm confident in both guys [Pavelec and Al Montoya] playing the game. We'll see how [Pavelec] feels tomorrow [Tuesday]. He felt good today and there's no reason to think he won’t be better tomorrow."

Who's hot: Jets defenseman Tobias Enstrom had his eight-game point-scoring streak snapped Saturday, during which he had two goals and 12 points.

Injury Report: Flyers center Sean Couturier was a late scratch Monday due to the flu, and he's doubtful to play Tuesday. Forward Scott Hartnell (foot) and defenseman Andrej Meszaros (shoulder) also are out. … Jets defenseman Dustin Byfuglien is expected to return after a five-game absence with a lower-body injury. Defenseman Zach Bogosian (wrist) is doubtful. Pavelec is questionable.
